WHY ASSET INTEGRITY AND PROCESS SAFETY CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION
Asset integrity and process safety management is the critical practice to ensure seamless operations with the ability for a plant to function effectively and efficiently for continuous productivity, and a safe work environment. This is crucial especially for oil, gas and petrochemical assets which can include highly complex infrastructures and legacy facilities requiring advanced inspection and monitoring to prevent failures, hazardous incidents, and unplanned shutdowns to achieve smooth operations and prevent production interruption. However, the industry still struggles with attaining excellence in asset integrity and process safety due to key challenges, such as the change in operating parameters versus design stage, material degradation, corrosion, fatigue, and deviations from the fundamental principles of HAZOP.
The upcoming Asset Integrity and Process Safety Conference & Exhibition, taking place on 2 May – 4 May 2023 in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will focus on addressing the key issues of asset life extension and optimization of maintenance strategies to ensure you improve the integrity and reliability of your assets while maintaining production capability and reducing operational cost. The conference will provide an effective platform for Asset Integrity, Process Safety, Reliability, Inspection, NDT & NDE, Corrosion Control, HAZOP, Operations and Maintenance professionals to interact, share knowledge, and exchange best practices to effectively manage assets and showcase the latest technological advancements to tackle faced challenges.
CONFERENCE CHAIRMAN
On behalf of the Asset Integrity and Process Safety Conference and Exhibition 2023 organizing committee, we welcome you in Jubail Industrial City.
As petrochemical assets age, they require special attention to maintain their mechanical integrity. This could be achieved by applying industry tried and tested solutions as well as by abiding with international codes and standards. The theme for AIPS 2023 is “Advanced strategies and technologies to optimize production”. It is intended to address chronic issues related to asset integrity and process safety and its associated challenges to improve asset reliability and prevent unplanned shutdowns.
The conference is designed to bring all practical experience in all aspects of asset integrity and process safety under one roof to create and facilitate discussion forums. The forums will cover issues that have become major threat on the integrity and operation of plant equipment in metallic and nonmetallic assets. A key drive for this conference is updating industrial technical knowledge among local professionals, industrial experts, scientists and academia, to ensure the delivery of state-of-art technologies, best practices and services through the conference eminent keynote speakers, well-versed technical sessions and Exhibition.
APIS 2023 organizing committee is working hard to make ideal platform for knowledge exchange, learning and networking. We look forward to welcoming you in Jubail Industrial City, the biggest industrial city in the world.
With my sincerest best wishes and warmest regards,
Best Regards,

WORKSHOP 1 | ASSET INTEGRITY 4.0 ELEMENTS
TIME: 09:00 AM
Overview:
Asset integrity 4.0 brings together all the elements required to ensure that the assets will provide maximum production capacity at the lowest operational costs, in a safe environment. It absolutely requires that PEOPLE, PROCESS and DATA be at the forefront of the business transformation initiative. It encompasses an asset performance program with a rigorous planned maintenance work execution process to ensure that the work required to prevent asset failures is always done on-time. Both must be supported by 4.0 DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY specifically designed to manage each of them efficiently.
Learning Objectives:
- Importance of asset integrity elements and their dependency
- An asset performance program must include an IPSPEC planned work execution process to provide the expected benefits
- Digital technologies must be specifically designed to support the People roles and the Process that will provide the value
- A rigorous multi-week scheduling process provides the highest and quickest ROI
Workshop Leader:
![]() | Mr. Jean Charbonneau has over 30 years of experience as a reliability engineer and consultant in asset integrity 4.0. He is a worldwide renowned speaker and an industry leading influencer on the best strategies for asset intensive organizations to transition to a planned work culture and achieve maintenance excellence. |
WORKSHOP 2: FRP PIPING SYSTEMS – HOW TO ENSURE FITNESS FOR SERVICE
TIME: 10:00 AM
Overview:
Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP) are being used extensively in the oil & gas and water industry as they provide numerous advantages over metallic materials, such as being corrosion free and a high strength to weight ratio. FRP piping systems can be designed for service lives reaching up to 50 years. Key aspects to the success of an FRP piping system include, correct resin selection, design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance. Lapses or gaps in any of these aspects can greatly affect the integrity and service life of the system.
Learning Objectives:
- Resin selection based on service conditions
- Design flow for an FRP piping system
- The importance of shop and site QA/QC
- Inspection methods
Workshop Leader:
![]() | Mr. Andy van Esch, Vice President Engineering of ENOIA Dynaflow, has over 30 years of experience as a consultant in the field of design, engineering and inspection of FRP piping systems. He has worked on some of the world’s largest FRP systems and has advised end users worldwide and in particular in the GCC on design and integrity matters and assisted in trouble shooting and failure analyses. |
